resort 12: teddy girls

Lots of designers were inspired by the teddy boy look for their Resort ’12 collections.  Check it out (click images to view full size):

Loving all those sharp, clean lines.

resort ’12: goody two-shoes

Lots of designers went the demure route for Resort ’12, opting for high-necked blouses, prim A-line skirts, and charming florals.  Here are four different ways they interpreted the concept.

Humorous and playful, with clashing brights:

Quirky nerd girls  in ladylike flowered frocks:

Ethereal fabrics and a certain coolness quotient:

Slightly rockabilly-retro prissiness with pops of red:

There’s a goody-goody girl for everyone!

Also, don’t forget you have a couple more days to tweet “I love @mycartoonheart!” to be entered to win my summertime nail polish giveaway!

resort ’12: pink ladies

There was a lot of pink going around for Resort ’12, and it wasn’t girly-girly so much as it had kind of a tough, edgy feel to it, even as it appeared in the form of floaty ’50s skirts and hyper-tailored trousers.  To my eye, these pieces would feel right at home on Rizzo, Frenchie, and the rest of the original mean girls.  Check out these new pink ladies:

resort ’12: nautical, dude

I know Resort collections are for rich people who can afford to take their chartered planes to St. Barts for the month of February, but I like them because they come out in summer and give me ideas for the current season.

Nautical motifs are a no-brainer for Resort because everyone is lying around on their yachts in the South of France, and there were a lot of looks rocked in the cradle of the deep for ’12:

Am I the only one who gets mad when American Apparel comes out with really cute stuff?  I don’t want to buy shit from them because Dov Charney is such a creepy perv, but then they put out this red lace dress that is totally giving Erdem Spring ’11 and my morals get all compromised.

Leaf flower lace dress, $52.  It also comes in black, cream, yellow, and orange.  Damn you, American Apparel!  I can’t quit you!
